Roost questions

My plan is to do a litter box under the roosts . 3 wide 9 long . I want to make a latter roost with hinges and a pulley system to help make it easier to clean. The latter would be at a 4 foot angle. I would like to go with 3 roost a foot apart. The question is this far enough apart ? I have 24 chickens in this coop.

I don't think so. If you plan on 12 inches apart on an angle/staggered pattern, the chickens on the upper roost will crap on any on the lower ones. I would go as far apart as you have room. But at least 14 inches.

Mine are no more then 12 In from each other and I have no Problems with them going on each other.

Well I did this today . If they poop on each other I,ll have to change it



The litter box under the roost is for that powder stuff . its used in horse stalls.
