I posted not long ago about my hubby rehoming my aggressive ( person was made well aware of his aggression) 6month old cockerel while i was gone to fla. i had intergrated to groups of chicks i had gotten in the spring. first batch of 8 came from TSC and second batch of 6 came from another local family run feed store that has a solid reputation. While i was gone to fla for 5/6 weeks thru september my husband n granddaughter heard another of our chickens crowing n my husband realized we had another cockeral we had not noticed he was a cockeral, it’s like he morphed from pullet to cockerel. i this cockerel doesn’t even look like any of my chickens i had. Has this ever happened to anyone else? He seems like he is a good rooster, he has shown no aggression towards us at all. can anyone take a guess of what kind he is also can anyone give me an idea of what my pullets are. i know some are ee’rs but can anyone tell if i have any olive eggers too. i’m getting different colored eggs but not what i envisioned i’ve posted pics of some of my flock ,my surprise cockerel and some of my eggs

Your cockerel is a handsome Easter Egger.
he sure was a suprise how i overlooked him i don’t know, i guess he was a late bloomer. He is a good cockeral so far. i wonder if the cockeral that turned mean got aggressive because he was trying to claim his spot as the alpha. He is doing good over at the lady we gave him to. he is free ranging with about 15 hens.

Thank you for your responce, i was thinking maybe the same thing. the cockerel we knew we had turned aggressive so we got rid of him to a lady i know and we let her know he was mean an untrustworthy. the first week he was mean so then she isolated him for a couple weeks. She then tr let him free range with her mature hens and he has been fine. He was a beautiful cockerel and i hated to give him away but safety comes first and i could not have him around my 14 yr old and she was terrified of him. The suprise cockerel has turned out to be a gentleman so far.
He was probably lying low since you had another, more dominant male. That happened to me with a Brahma in my in-town flock.

A couple days after I processed "the red boys" -- the packing peanuts -- he stepped up and crowed.
