ETA: none of the chickens that are supposed to be marans have white skin. There are hens in the background of the first photo, that would be the same breed as the rooster.

Yes. Unfortunately mistakes happen.

This hen is a Marans. White skin and feathers on outer toe only. Upright tail instead of cushion.

Sometimes chicks 'jump ship' and end up in the wrong bin. It could be a maran, I've never seen ones with such leg feathers but cackle has some show lines, maybe good marans have fluffy legs.

Tail is cushion-like. Would like to know skin color though.

No big deal on the breed. I mostly just wanted confirmation that they are in fact roosters.

What's interesting is that my Black Sumatra is the only one that crows. Chickens sure are weird sometimes.

Tail is cushion-like. Would like to know skin color though.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get close enough to look. I don't "socialize" with the chickens, so they don't let me get within 2-3 feet of them before they move away.

Ah, okay that makes sense. They definitely defer to him and stay out of his way. He sure is magnificent. He loves to strut and puff himself up. Luckily he's been pretty chill towards me, since I don't really try to handle them directly.

I was able to get a look at him on the roost this evening. His feet are yellow.

His conformation and physical traits aside, I thought I saw a small sliver of yellow on a toe in the pic you posted.
