Rouen ducks laying eggs all over the yard

Is there a trick to get my ducks to use the darn nesting boxes in their yard instead laying the eggs in the mud all over the place?
sorry i laugh but this happens my ducks too i find eggs in the pool a lot and in tree pots lol or just random… but i have to laugh it’s schadenfreude don’t know if you’ve heard of it here’s the def…

Ducks don't always look for nests, but some get better at laying in the same place when they are more mature. They do tend to lay early in the morning so keeping them contained to a clean place for the night into the morning can help.

You can try leaving them in their coop longer give them plenty of bedding so they can make a nest[indention]; sometimes, as they age, they will lay inside too. My Runners will still lay and egg outside next to the water bucket or running up the hill but my older ones mainly lay inside. Now I am starting all over again with 4 Runner females at 4 months so I'll be picking eggs up in the yard again. :hmm
