I guess kinda like slim shady.. Naw but for real
Hi I'm from North woods Maine my username used to be Phoenixrizing or sumthin or other I forget, it's been a while lol but anyways..
I came into this group as a chicken beginner, now I have 2, two year old hens,.. they are eggers and I adore them..I got tons of help in here with my new birds until eight months old then I was kinda experienced in most areas living in the climate, and conditions that I do, living in northern Maine in the shadows of the famous Mt Katahdin, the well known end of or beginning of the Appalachian trail, Baxter state park woods n Waters, it's quite challenging most of the time..
#1 problem predators.. The coons here get 40+ lbs got five of my hens, in one round..ugh caught in the act, by me I was horrified to find that massacre, I mean I caught the cunning fox, but that coon?? I was just Frigging horrified to find the scene I did while it was all going down, thank God to of my eggers were smart and hid.. it's all woods around me and I had 12 but unfortunately within a year 10 were picked off one by one.. by a fox, who cleverly got five before I realized wth?, it's only cuz I caught him snatching the 6th and I was able to save her, but I had since moved my girls into an unused unheated room in my camp, that was no where as hear as cold as outside but they were quite comfortable. Now they are in their original coupe for now, not the same coupe the coon raided.. SO I decided it was time to add my flock and I went to get silkies but there was none, so I left with 2 light and 2 dark brahmas bantams .. Two of the almost three week old chicks are gomers (light brahmas) and they are huge compared to my dark bantam brahmas BUT I'm keeping fingers crossed for a Cockerel and will be inquiring on here wen time.. So fun in here glad to be back..pics of my new and my older!!.. Yay
