I bred Modern Game Bantams for YEARS. They were my hearts forever. As I got older, I decided to get into egg production and sold off my MGB's.. I was spending money on feed and wanted to get more out of what I was giving.. I sold a lot of eggs to cover my expenses and still do.
However, My heart still goes back to the little game birds, BUT, I LOVE the height of the large game birds.. Like MGB's on Sci-Fi radiation/or steroids.
I'm pushing 50 now, and am told I am on glue to try to get into any of the tall game birds. I specifically like The Saipans and the Asils for their eagle eyed/bird of prey look.
I have more than enough room for a trio or group, but am worried about being kicked/spurred by a small velociraptor.. ( the MGB's could be bad enough at 1 pound.. what can happen with a 15 pound 36" tall roo?
Trying to locate breeders as well.. Apparently, not a common breed..Maybe not one that is well liked for the reason I am so apprehensive?
There's one hatchery that has a mile long waiting list (Cackle) for Saipans.. But, I'm still debating.. Any suggestions?

i would not buy any of these breeds from a hatchery. i would also stay away from the saipans(not purebred), and malay(too many health problems). there are plenty of good asil or shamo around if you know the right people.

the oriental games are super easy to deal with. they are much more gentle with their people (generally speaking) than most other breeds.
and O-Shamo may be one for you to look at. They are tall and lean like a modern, but muscular and big-boned like an oriental is supposed to be.

Do not go with Hatcheries. They do not supply games with the behavior, size, posture, or even facial appearance.

Shamos also have the amazing, hawk-like "cruel" expression, and are the most upright of the bunch. O-Shamos especially are very large. To me, they're extremely kid safe, as I've never ever heard of an aggressive one. My own pair, the male especially, is the most friendly I've ever known. I think the only thing they truly demand is attention.

They're always at your feet, talking to ya - If you have them loose of course.

The breeders Chris09 listed are good, Moua Oriental Aviary is another good one, but expect prices to be high, especially for the better quality birds, and expect to pay shipping for the adults too. Very few people sell chicks or hatching eggs. I myself would never sell anything below 5 months old, except in hatching egg form.

get an asil or a game malay or a thai game.these are great looking birds and are also very strong.they can stand about 75 cm high.
