I rescued a couple 3 1/2 year old salmon faverolles(pet quality) hens from the pot. Their names are Rat(my nephew named her) and Candy, Rat is missing a few toes (likely frostbite) and Candy had her cheeks plucked. Anyone got excessive info on this breed? I know nothing about them other then the fact that they’re social and friendly(Rat is VERY loud)

I have one. She is quirky, friendly, not agressive, and doesn’t quite fit in with the other breeds (although no one is mean to her). She is a goofball. She lays a medium sized cream egg about 4 times a week (although she stopped for the winter). Very cold-hardy, but have to keep their feet feathers dry in the winter to prevent frostbite. A nice thick roost bar will help as they can cover their feet with their stomach feathers while sleeping at night. Mine went broody once last summer, and although she didn’t hatch, she hangs out more with the younger girls than the ladies from her group.

My three (Fluff, Fancy and Jade) are very chatty and docile, and will be 4 years old in April. They are my only hens that survived a fox attack from 2 years ago, and have since slowed down egg production.
Jade usually gets broody every spring, but eventually gets over it. (no roosters in the flock)

If you haven't seen her, Fancy is "Miss June" in the BYC calendar this year!!

They usually have five toes
They are descendants of the dorking houdan brahma cochin and several other breeds
Great temperament my bantam is friendly but occasionally feisty to the other girls. Have a hen 3 times the size of her same age she is tied for top in the pecking order with the large hen

They are one of the most interesting breeds. Even if they are all salmon coloured they come in different shades. This is hestia the bantam faverolle

Oh my goodness she’s beautiful. I didn’t even know that salmon was just a coloration! I thought it was a one coloration breed. That’s amazing!
