Any opinions on the rosecomb RIW's from Sand Hill?
I'm trying to develop a sexlink program for my chick customers. So I'm more concerned with the genetics to produce a sexlink (using my RIR roo) than I am with show quality. I've ordered some RIW from the hatcheries and gotten some horrible hens...they don't lay at all well...1-2 eggs/day from 5 hens, they all have single combs, and I haven't bred them yet to determine if they are even genetically proper with the silver gene to produce a sexlink. However, with the lack of laying that I see from them I'm not inclined to pass that trait along in the sexlinks. So I am looking for something a bit better for production, genetically correct, and I will not be showing the birds.
