Sapphire Olive Egger journey

I got 2 sapphire olive eggers 3 weeks ago :) I can't wait to see how they turn out. They seem to be feathering really slowly, I hope they aren't cockerels! the first one is a lighter grey.

They are in their awkward feather stage . 1000006507.jpg 1000006945.jpg 1000006512.jpg 1000006957.jpg

I supposedly got 2 sapphire olive Eggers from TSC. When they were chicks, they looked identical. Now my cockerel has bars. When I Google image the breed, I don’t see any roosters looking like him.

The first 2 pics are of the rue. The 3rd is of the hen. She looks darker than most of them that I see online, but still looks really similar. Just not sure about him. At the same time we did get to barred rock hens.
Although one of the barred rocks was supposed to be a midnight majestic. See my post “ the game the roulette buying chicks from TSC.”

Last pic is of the home made pen I use for my small chicks so they can be outside during the day after a couple weeks. Some bamboo poles zip tied on each, and through the fencing, to keep it from collapsing. Works great. I have used it for two summers now and the chick still like going in there to hang out on the roost.

This post will be about Sapphire Olive eggers and their colors from chicks - pullets - hens - then the egg colors they lay. These chicks came Hoovers Hatchery!
One is a light gray and the other black. Hopefully this will help someone when they are picking out their Sapphire Olive Egger chicks!
So how has everyone turned out?

I'm following this! I'm going to pick up my (4) 8 week old chicks at local farm beginning of April! I'm nervous and excited as a first timer. I didn't see much info on them but only read they do will in warmer climate then others, calm and docile, not as broody (crossing fingers) and friendly/easy to handle.

Do you know what they are? As in, what breeds were used in the mix, and which of those was the rooster?
If it has a barred mother, then they had sex-linked chicks and the boys will all have white spots on their heads.
I’ve heard that before but unfortunately idk what the parents were …. When I got them from Tractor supply they told me the movie eggers were sex linked. So I’m not sure if they got that information from the person who bred them and they told them? Otherwise I’m not sure why they would say that they are all females if they didn’t hav that information ..
