Sexing 11 week old Wyandotte (5 birds)

1 and 2 are pullets, 3-5 are cockerals, and yes 1 is a Silver Laced Wyandotte, the rest are Golden Laced Wyandottes

I've gone through that too, I had one pullet, that it took 3-4 guesses from me back and forth before I could tell, I put it on this site, and I got the same thing, some people said pullet, others said cockeral! It is a pullet though, getting that hen body now

I just decided to go back for a second look at #1, there is something else in her, she has a single comb, Wyandottes are rosecomb, she is mostly Wyandotte though I am pretty sure

I'm going to send a picture to the breeder as well and see if they can shed some light. Either way, I'm ok with another breed of hen

Single combs pop up now and then in Wyandotte.... Good production birds but shouldn't be used for breeding

The single comb is a recessive trait, so it can appear; two of my six hatchery Wyandottes this year have single combs! It's fine with me, they won't be bred. Mary

Thanks for the info! These birds are non-show quality so that could certainly be the case
