I must have been changing my mind ten times about this one. At the moment I still have hope it might be a young hen. Hoping more experienced eyes than mine will be able to spot some signs pointing one way or the other. Thanks

Thanks everyone! It's three quarters Sussex (think perhaps the woman I bought Te mother from said it was a mix of Sussex and australorp or araucana??? ) so it won't look completely pure. I think he's comb and chin flaps tips the scale towards rooster,but what of the tail? What is it that convinces you? Sorry for the hassle, but I'm very curious to learn!
