Hi, everyone!
I feel like I always ask this, but now that I have these chicks what gender do y’all think they are?I’ve never owned barred rocks before and some things lead me to thinking they’re Roos and then sometimes something tells me they’re girls. What are your opinions?

We recently had a barred rock that turned out to be a roo....it was difficult to tell. Then one day it crowed. One thing I did notice even though it was bigger than all the other chicks it was never “top of the pecking order”. More like he sat back and supervised, always last to eat, but also seemed to be supervising his lady’s activities, like he herded them about. When I took a chick away from the flock they would all chirp back and forth like trying to find one other, when he was removed from the flock he would chirp but no one would chirp back. I don’t know if this is rooster related but I found it odd they all interacted with him differently.
