Sexing your Silkies (PICTURES AND TIPS - Updated July-5-12)

Pics
I have two buff Silkie chicks, age 6 1/2 weeks. Both were hatchery-sexed as female, but one is much larger than the other and is getting a spiky hairstyle. Wondering if it's a boy. If it matters, this larger chick spent its first week of life running around pecking the other (standard-sized) chicks while they were eating.

I'd appreciate your opinions! Thanks.

These first two pictures are of the larger chick:

Side-by-side, for size comparison. Smaller chick on the left, larger chick on right. With a same-age Australorp pullet.

Does anyone have a guess on this one? Turns 6 wks tomorrow.

Our other silkie is 10 weeks. I've always suspected female & at this point, it's so spoiled that I think we'd keep it no matter what.

I cannot decide whether this 5-6 month old Silkie is a hen or rooster. I'm terrified that it will start crowing and make my neighbors loose their marbles. Please assist.

I'm new to silkies and wondering if anyone has any gender predictions? This baby is 3 months old. No comb to speak of yet.
