Could it be her age ? I checked her visuals- she otherwise seems alright; I just ever asked how old she is when I got her-and I got her with the broken beak. If not acting broody towards the now grown flock she acts ultra timid . #Started laying at night!! This change came with the soft eggshells; also I suspect she drops them few times more now during the day- she will make nests in the garden too and lay - sometimes I catch her eating the egg parts; while I noticed she also lays around 8 pm and tonight instead of putting her in the coop I kept her in - so to fetch this dropped shell-less specimen I put in a pan. I wonder if it’s edible btw. I attach photos of her food and habitat for clues; I also feed her with oyster shells, crushed calcium with vitamin D3 and layer pellets; she goes up a level to find the grit, shells and small marble stones herself- so she is interested in her good digestion. I also ferment food and give plenty of fresh produce (so to keep them birds off my new growth in the greenhouse beds). So now I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ what else it may be . No other change in habitat or diet

How are your other chickens if you have any?? do they lay regular normal eggs?
Only thing I would suggest if this is only happening with this chicken is to try diet change. You may need to isolate her during feeding if you are offering the (your regular) feed to your chickens.
Just feed her the layer feed, (only) and still offer crushed Oyster shells free-choice. You can also offer her crushed eggshells instead. Plenty of fresh water, and see what results.
All those fresh veggies, are just great, but they may be causing protein imbalance in chickens diet. I'm not saying it is,,,,,, but a possibility. :idunno I also would hold of on the fermenting of feed, during this trial testing.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

Thank you! I must try it; my chickens are so into produce tho- all of them prefer it to the scratch and pellets and the recommend food I get; I offer it also to keep them off my growing produce; seems like they will eat anything else in the garden including dirt! I am keeping her in now; a pigeon laid egg in her coop anyways and I don’t want ant her to feel additionally traumatized as she seems herself distraught- not knowing what’s happening; when she first got this way - I thought I may lose her - she withdrew interest from food and was very, very sleepy.. I wonder if she ingested something poisonous even. I will try anything now and yes, keeping her in on pellets and shells :)

Fence them out of the garden and feed nothing but a good chicken ration and plain water for 2 weeks, see if that improves the shelless eggs.

What pellets are you feeding... brand model, protein and calcium percentages?

I managed to keep her in but when she is egg bound she is in need to lay I can tell climbs up everywhere searching for a good place to lay- so the first chance she had to run out she goes in her new garden nest and prepares it for laying - that would be her second egg in just over 12 hours. I feed egg layers pellets of course. Added some barley seeds for calcium crushed calcium because she indicated that’s what she wants - eats the crushed eggshells I have mixed with the pellets; jumped in the shell levels again - so I crushed her some . Now she is next to me building her new nest! And I found my seeding paper in her nest !!.. she is a great hoarder - even in food; hides hers and steals everyone else’s..
Another weird thing is - she is putting leaves 🍁 and pine 🌲 needles on top of her - not in the nest she is building- while she puts stuff under her in the best as well- as if trying to comouflage herself ?! I haven’t seen that yet! I tried to post video if it on this site directly live as attachment but the format was refused again. So I post pictures of her feed; pellets content, other seeds (barley, hemp, nutritional yeast, oats, plus I give them chicken, fish and produce - as already mentioned).

Some hens do that while on the nest, and others do it once they get off. It may be an attempt to camouflage themselves or the nest, but no one knows for sure.

Yet it gives you the option “take photo or video” so I took the option; made a call on it .. and it came back with a loss
