we have 14 chickens and i of them is a cornish hen rooster? should we keep him as i do not want fertilized eggs? if we do keep him how can we keep the eggs from getting fertilizsed? we do not want any more baby chicks...thanks for any help

You will not have chicks unless you allow the hens to incubate the eggs. There should be no problem with keeping the rooster unless he is a rock/Cornish cross. They are bred for rapid growth and have a rather short life span.

ok thanks a million...he is quite lag at 9 wks and has huge feet and is all white....how can i know if he is a rock one or not?

well found that indeed we are raising a rock cornish rooster...how long do they live for and when should we consider him freezer food? he is 9 wks old now
