Ok well, we had her in her own coop while we added new chickens because she is a game hen and will kill another chicken if we don’t do that. That’s a story for another time though. I walked out there and her comb was torn like that. Not all of it just that so I was really confused. We assumed she just got caught on something and didn’t put anything on it. It healed up nicely but it just flops around in her face so we’re thinking of cutting the rest of it off.WHAT HAPPENED TO HER COMB?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She thrives and we have no issues with her. Most American game chickens don’t have combs so to me it’s normal. She still has her wattles and part of her comb is still connected.Doesn't she need it for ventilation? [chickens use their combs like air conditioning units on their heads. google it]
