Wondering if I can use the copier paper boxes from work as nesting boxes. Take the lid and place as the bottom, then stand the box itself up in the lid. I am thinking cleaning up would be easy and just replace with another one. Would that work?? Not sure how long they would last, a week?

I don't see why the copier paper boxes wouldn't work. I haven't had to change the straw in our boxes yet, and the girls have been laying for two months now. Check out the gardening threads for tips on raised beds with cardboard on the bottom, and you'll find a use for the spent boxes.

I do too. I think when I build the next coop or even add onto mine now I want to make a few of those. They're too cute.

I use a 4 foot long drawer with 4 milk crates on their side with pine shavings in them.
