Here is mine. It used to be my living room computer desk.

We removed a window and hung ours in the window frame. It has a human access door on the outside, and hinged doors on the inside:

Here's the view from outside the coop. The little red barn is the nest box. The door opens to collect the eggs:

my boyfriend built these with scrap wood.. there are 21 of them for 14 hens.... they use all but one of them

Since we have welsummers, they are very hard to tell apart.. so we call them what ever name is on the nesting box LOL

This is what DH came up with. I love it and think it is just wonderful.
It is a good way to use and old bed frame that you don't want to throw away.
Our girls just love it.

We have a little gap at the bottom of front of our nesting boxes to make it easier to sweep/wash out any small debris when doing periodic cleanings:

After cleaning is done, a small (removable) board is replaced in little slot at the front to keep nesting material from coming out the bottom:

Here are our two new nest boxes. We installed them yesterday and the Girls have adapted well so far even if they do give us strange looks when we come in to feed.

These are my nesting boxes.
They are basic but do the trick and the hens love them.
