I bought a dozen silkie eggs from a local woman who let me know that she had "a mix flock of blue, black, splash, paint, partridge, buff, cuckoo and lavender. Also have regular feathers, satin feathers and a slim chance of frizzle. As well as showgirls with naked necks!"
I stuck one of the 12 under my broody silkie and this morning when I checked, found that she'd hatched. But I'm very confused- should she have skin this light!!? I don't really care because this chick will just be a pet, but I thought that silkies all had black skin.

Silkies should have black skin but showgirls are a cross between Silkies and Naked Necks so they can have lighter skin.
