It is just plain old 'chick starter' feed and it says Medicated Chick Starter. Since its all that they sell here that is what I buy. I buy it by the pound and not by the bag so I really don't know what is in it. Normally I would rather have a hen worry about feeding the chicks but no hen. I am starting over after being away from chickens for a few years. If the chickens aren't from a hatchery they may not need so called 'medicated feed'. According to info on the internet it is used to prevent Coccidiosis. I guess it is something that young chicks are prone to get by limiting the amount of thiamine a chick receives.
