I have a Rouen duck that isn’t acting right tonight, walking slow, not super spunky. Usually she is very hard to catch and she was easy to scoop up tonight. No signs of physical injuries, doesn’t feel egg bound. I brought her up in a small kennel to monitor close by (in my garage) and she’s now panting, not eating much but she did drink water. Beak feels hot to the touch. I have left over antibiotics from a Hen that passed last fall. Can I give these to the duck? I already tried sugar water and peas, I will try giving her scrambled eggs tomorrow morning.

Walking slow, panting and when was the last egg?

I'd consider giving her extra Calcium to see if she's having a hard time expelling an egg before administering an antibiotic.

For Ducks it seems the most common type of extra calcium to give is Calcium Gluconate which can be found at TSC. https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-bound-ducks-preliminary.959537/post-14940303

But to answer your question, it does look like you can give that medication to a Duck, recheck just to be sure. You'll need to look up dosing.

Thank you for your help!! I decided to wait and just continue with the vitamins and electrolytes and the next morning there was an egg and she perked back up and she’s back with the flock acting normally

I'm glad she laid an egg is doing better! Good idea on waiting and getting vitamins/fluids into her.

When you can, it would be a good idea to have some Calcium on hand just in case she (or any of your other ducks/chickens) have the same problem. Often giving that extra boost can help them expel an egg and get them better pretty soon.
