Duck acting odd possible trauma or infection green poop

Oh really ? Sorry to hear. Did you know what is was ? We still don’t know for sure and are all worried about our other duck
I had a necropsy done on my duck that showed the cause of death was egg yolk perontitis. A necropsy is a great way to find out the cause of death.

My duck wasn't showing the classic symptoms of egg yolk perontitis, and had come back with a positive avian malaria test so the vet thought she had that. Unfortunately anorexia is a symptom of many illnesses.

She has been like this for a week barely eating this whole week. She was taking grapes up until the day I took her to vet three days ago.
The antibiotic says Albon oral suspension (14ml)?
Albon (sulfadimethoxine) is what many vets will give. If something like this happens again, ask "why do you want to give Albon, why not Baytril"?

Wow thanks I never even heard of that one ! Ugh I know we are googling like crazy right now but we both know we won’t know know what happened.

Sorry to hear. wow I never heard of that before. Ugh there’s so many thing ! Can I ask how much the necropsy was? Maybe we will to help current duck and future ducks ..thanks

Ok thanks I assume baytril is better - our duck we took to an emergency vet years ago gave us that clavamox one.
Baytril is one of the effective antibiotics for gram-negative bacterial infections. This table says Clavamox is good too, though it's been my experience that Baytril is better.

Over the last 6 years I've lost 3 ducks to medical reasons and I have had a necropsy for each of them. It has helped give me peace, to know why they passed, and also to know that it wasn't contagious to the rest of the flock. My veterinarian does them for free for established patients. I believe it can cost 200-500 at a veterinarian otherwise, depending on how many tissue samples they send off for analysis.

But I have heard other members discussing sending their birds to state labs for much less money. Do you live in the US?
