Sorry, this is a long post. I have a 8 week old turkey poult who has had a variety of symptoms for a while now and we cannot figure out what is wrong with it. At about 4 weeks I noticed that this particular poult was presenting with blackness on the beak by the nose and a few days later on the feet. It is at this time we moved them to an outdoor enclosure (off the ground). A few days later it started sneezing so we isolated it from the others and started giving it some oregano water. The respitory issue cleared up, but the beak and feet got a little worse. Upon recommendation from the local feed store we gave it dewormer.
For almost two weeks, it stopped getting worse, but wasn't getting any better (the beak started to clear up, but the feet stayed the same). About a week ago we noticed one foot/leg significantly swelled up and no matter what we did (including epsom salt soaks and cleaning the cage every single day), it has not gotten better. Through all this, it has maintained an appetite and drank water. In the past day or two, it does seem to be in pain and have difficulty walking. After 3 weeks of seperation, none of the other poults seem to be showing any symptoms.
Also to note, this poult has slowed in developing with its siblings growing and starting to lose the hair on their heads while this one is a lot smaller (t looks more like 6 weeks instead of 8). I've asked several people and they seem to be just as stumped. At this point I have no idea what else to do and any advice is welcome.
These are from a couple days ago
These are from a few weeks ago when I first really noticed the symptoms, and realized it was more than just discoloration of beak and feet. The same day we isolated it from the others. For the most part the feet stayed like this up until a week or so ago when the swelling really started.
