Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Thanks everybody. He really had a great time. He doesn't really meet a stranger so he made a lot of friends. He's only 6 so the conversations about how eggs get fertile have been very amusing!!

Here's another for ya Sonoran! I have two silkie mixes who bred, when the chicks hatch could any possibly turn out with silkied feathers or do they have to be bred to a full silkie?
If each of them had one silkie parent, they are split to silkied plumage. Paired together, 25% should have silkied feathers, 25% not have the gene at all and 50% be split to it, Yu won't be able to tell white ones don;t carry the gene and which ones are splt to it without breeding to a bird carrying the gene, and looking at the ressults.

We entered out little splash pullet into the Altamont Fair and we are hoping to enter her into a few upcoming shows here in the area. She is quite the little show off. We are hoping that she does well!
