do all of them have feathered feet? i just hatched a five toed black chick with very, very dark green feet, but they are not feathered. could it be a silkie or is it something else?

dark green feet and no feathers or barely any on the feet? id say it's a mix

I'm sorry!!! That's always no fun! I bet it's cute though!!!!

it has no feathers at all. just clean legged, but has five toes?? also looks like it has a beard. i'll get some pics posted in a day or so when he gets a little strength to him.

oh....and i prefer the mutts! i'm not into specific breeds. i really enjoy the mutts of the chicken world. it's more fun to see them hatch too. you never really know what is hatching!

Five breeds have 5 toes: dorkings, faverolles, houdans, silkies, sultans. Dorkings and houdans do not have foot feathers. Dorkings have pink legs/toes; houdans have slate or horn legs & toes. Houdans have a crest; dorkings do not.

That said, I have a pet quality silkie with no foot feathering whatsoever.
