Great thread!

I have six silkies, all are 11 weeks old. One has been crowing for a little over a week (no photo of him here), and I have my guesses about several others. I actually think they're almost all roos. One white and one buff I'm really hoping are pullets

what do you think?

She's a little dirty, but this was the best shot I could get of her comb.

I would say 2& 3 definately roos. The wattles size and streamers... The buff id say pullet.. And 1. Could go either way , id say roo cause size of comb but i dont see no streamers as of yet ...

2 and 3 are for sure cockerels while 1 and 4 appear to be pullets but 1 could turn to a cockerel so keep an eye on that one

here is my black silkie. please reply soon with your guess. it is around 9 weeks old. i need to have a good guess for the 28 of June. i would wait any other time to see but need it for 4-H. i would guess pullet but want a second opinion.

i would say cockerel based on the way the crest is swept back at this point but with it so young and no others to compare its size to thats just a guess

Small crest sweeped back crest thinking roo, butthen again its crest just maybe coming in... Cant really see its comb... So it could be a girl...:/
