Silkie X Leghorn Crosses

This is Valentino (he hatched on Valentine's Day- do you have that in the States?) He's brown leghorn cross partridge silkie.
He is 20 weeks old and very keen to work the hens! A typical teenage rooster- I'm hoping he will learn some manners soon or he'll be sent to a new home.

Boys with white skin, and girls with Darkish skin...

just check my mixes(did not used silkies but Fibromelanotic Roo over a production type white leghorns)

here Hatching under my home made brooder...

here you can see how the F1 should look like

and here is about the best broody I have had over the years

I believe Broodyness is a sex linked gene or genes of Dominant to none broody genes like the leghorns have.... she is just a F1 of a Silkie like bird(not in silkie feathers but in color, size and broody traits)

so far all of the chicks you have shown seems to be boys...

Edit.... What you have done is about the easiest way to Sex link birds from hatch...

at one point I was trying to do a sex linked broilers using that method...

What works best. Silkie hen x leghorn roo or silkie roo x leghorn hen? Does it make a difference?

If you want to sex them, use a Silkie Roo over a Leghorn Female...

Why doesn't it work the other way?
