We had a couple of boer crosses last year. Had MAJOR selenium issues. We are trying pygmies now. Got them a few months ago. Am leery about babies, though. Pics I've seen have been SO tiny.

we had one born march of 08 he wasnt that little. and then this year the kid became stuck and we were gone the baby didnt make it

I going to try these for one kidding. Three are filling out and one is getting milk. If they do well, I'll keep them. If not, I'm going to try plain old Spanish-type goats. I've seen these black ones with copper on their faces that are really pretty. We've had Nubians, sanaans, sables, alpines, boer crosses and even a la mancha.

Goats are so crazy... and entertaining. Not quite as addictive as the chickens, though.
