I had 4 broodies, taking turns sitting on about 15 eggs. I had candled an egg or two and had seen development. Hatch date was a week from Monday (so about halfway through setting). Tonight I noticed that the nest boxes were a bit crooked. Hubby went out to try fix it and it collapsed. I think I managed to save about 5 eggs. I did see development in at least 2 of the broken eggs. Hens are scared. I am guessing this hatch is not going to be a go. We have to rebuild the coop. Would the boxes have held for the weekend? I don't know. We're heading out of town. No chickens were hurt during this, just spooked. I'm just very disappointed.
