Speckled Sussex???? Then... hen or roo?

Hard to tell with the red light, but I do think that's an SS cockeral. Mine didn't have much for speckles until their 15 week molt. The more they molt, the more speckles they get.

My welsummer and ss were almost identical as baby chicks. The only way to tell difference (for me) was leg color. As they grew, the ss developed 1 white wing feather on each wing. So- legs and wing to tell difference.
Now- you can tell differences obviously-but I am still unable to find a difference in welsummers- I have not named them, I can't tell them apart-i call em "the twins".
