My guinea was born at 1:30 am. By 5pm it was still not standing and leg out to side. I found a thread on here about cutting bandaid and taping upper legs into position. I went out twice and found him on his back. I readjusted and put on new bandaid and he seemed much more stable. By 9 he had it knocked off. But he appears to be walking and standing as well as a small bit of an attemp at running. Can 4 hours of this technique fix him. Or should I put another on? He now lays with legs under his belly like normal chick

It must have been all it needed. I went out to check on it and all my guineas jumped up and RAN across the cage. I cant even tell which one it was. So happy.

So glad he's recovered :) I have had trouble with splayed legs before, and I just tape the legs as you mentioned, and after 1 week the tape comes off and there you have it! You wouldn't even guess that at one point they weren't able to stand on their own.
