Check out the 231 Farm and Home Center in Prince Frederick, Md. I was just there today and they have 19 week old red sex-linked pullets for $12 each.

Hi from Dentsville, MD!

That's Charles county, not far from La Plata or Mechanicsville. New chicken owner here. I was wondering if anyone here in southern Maryland trades off taking care of chickens for owners going on vacation? I know I can pay a pet sitter but would really like to have someone who cares about chickens take care of the girls in August. I'd do the same for you. Any thoughts?
