I have a sack of stone ground grits can I add some to my starter feed. My chicks are 5 days old. Could I also add a few oats? Mine do not have pasty butt, I just thought the grits would help keep the manure solid.

I think grits would be OK to give to chicks, just be sure if you give them grit as well. OK not trying to be deliberately obtuse

, just too much fun to pass up.

Make sure the chicks have stone chick grit, so they can grind up the corngrits that you add. That seems to be recommended for any treats given to chicks. Also do not give too much treats to the chicks as they need the nutrition of their starter feed for optimum growth and health. Congrats on the chicks
