stud mating pens?

I know that the smaller the group of birds the more space they need. I want to design housing for single mating trios. You know, when you move the male from one pen to the other. What size cage would one use for that type of mating? oh yeah, the bird size? silkies. what would you use?

Thanks, that is a good looking pen, my only problem is winter. i need to get the birds inside in January when it is -30 and 3 feet of snow. But I guess that size would be good out side, it would be good inside too, right?

That's my problem too. We are in the process of converting my shed into a chicken house. I heard if you just pack it full of straw and out of the wind it will keep them warm. I don't know if I believe that or want to take the chance.
