sudden death****

so the other night my sister went to close the coop door and found one of our Silkie Roos dead inside the coop.

No signs of a predator on him or the coop. She mentioned that he had been laying under one of our covered areas more for the past couple days but nothing other than that

Any guesses as to what could’ve happened? And should we worry about the rest of our flock? (I’ve told her to keep an eye on them)

I didn’t pay much attention the day before I fed watered and left plus there were 3 identical to her

How old was he? What's your flock's diet?

I guess so. She didn’t mention he was acting off until she had already found him. He usually like to be walking around with his ladies so it’s unusual for him to just lay around. She said he was crowing and eating like normal though

He was just over 2 years. They have all been on layer feed. But we recently switched everyone over to all flock feed

I was only able to FaceTime my sister when she found him. It was dark so she wouldn’t have been able to see any anyways. He’s already been buried
