Sumatra sexing?

Ended up being 2 beautiful pullets! Yay!

Sumatras are not a docile breed. They act more like pheasants than chickens. In over 15 years breeding them I've never had one I'd call docile.


We're they docile when they were young, then personalities changed? Mine are currently two months old and fall asleep on my lap until others jump up on my knees and wake them up...
 
Mined are penned up all the time so no losses to predators. If you free range them they may take off. And they are very good flyers. I've had some escape and fly over 1/4 mile before landing. And they can fly straight up well over 20 feet with ease.


They are also extremely good climbers. Even if their wings were clipped(which doesn't always stop any bird from flying) they can climb a fence with no cover extremely easily.

My Sumatra, though likely a rare example, is wonderfully docile.

Mine all seem to be too! The reference to them never being docile confused me, personally...Mine are still young, but I am noticing that when I socialize them from the beginning, it tends to stick through their lives(so far, at least)
