Surviving Minnesota!

And the verdict is in. Son has a broken shoulder, thankfully no concussion but they are having me wake him every hour to be on the safe side. 4 hours now the er, only to be told come back tomorrow at 7 am to see orthopedics specialist. In my best whiny voice but the roads stink... so i told my husband stay in fargo i can handle this. His response, "i never doubted thst you couldnt handle it, by the way did you plug in the skid loader." So because i didnt plug in the skid loader...i called my father in law. First thing outta is mouth.." I bet you didn't plug in the green bean." Nope. "I'll bring over the big artillery." So because i had so much free time. I spent a little time cleaning the spilt water mess in the coop, feeding, rebeding only to knock over the water when refilling oyster shell. If it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck today. Cheers to a better tomorrow.

Poor kid, that's gotta hurt ! hope tomorrow is much better :)

@MinnesotaNice thought of u when I saw this ad. But it's a bit of a drive?

https://fargo.craigslist.org/grd/5916281351.html

Yeah, that would be quite the drive. I'm a bit picky when it comes to roosters. I prefer to raise them from chicks. I'd take a juvie or adult if I knew the person they were coming from. I found two people with BCMs. My fingers are also twitching on ebay eggs. I may give it a whirl.

Today's eggs

I love the olive eggs! I like speckled eggs, too. What lays the white one?

Hey guys, I'm not from Minnesota, but Wisconsin, Go Pack Go. Anyway with a similar climate, when is the best time to incubate chicken eggs? If it takes three weeks to hatch and a few more in the brooder, I don't want them to outgrow the brooder before it's warm enough to put them outside in the colder Coop. Also what kind of chicks do you recommend? Thanks for helping a neighbor to the east and a first time chicken farmer!

Most intense basketball game ever!!!
We played Beach High School for the boys tonight, it started out with us being about even but they edged out slowly and by the end of first it was us having half the points they did, at 2nd we got closer to them and finally caught up to them and were leading by a few. During 3rd we were really close the whole time. Basically tied, we had one started foul out and they had 2 starters foul out. They also had 1 post and a guard with 4 at the beginning if 4th. At the beginning of 4th we were tied until one of our posts went in for a lay up and totally got past there 6' 8" 275 pound post, our 2 posts are both 6' 4" and probably weigh 140-170. Beachs post was angry! We all thought he was going to deck our post, Collin. Then they were leading by 5 we then caught up, we had an over and back, but there huge post had 4 travels. It was so close to the end and came down to a guard, Matthew making one of his free throws, and Collin making 2 of his at the end. Thank gosh for Nathan too!! He saved us so many times and was able to get to the ball quick and steal it.
Doesn't sound to exhilarating here but it was pretty stressful!!

Also for pep band it was just me and Cayden again! One trumpet player went in the ditch, another ended up having to go home, and the other one just didn't show up. And there were about 22 other kids in all the other sections combined. We sounded so bad at the end of running out, out of breathe, only one of us playing at a time. It was horrible. I won't even start on half time.
And then after halftime him and I are walking back to the bleachers and we realize the whole thing was just on the radio. We are going to hide our faces forever!
