Surviving Minnesota!

I got the Hatcher going and am pretty happy with the temps it’s holding. Now I just have to get the humidity up and we’ll be in business:woot

I had a "heckofa" time getting my humidity up in my hatcher in January/ Early Feb. I resorted to buying the gravity pail system (with both sponges), then adding the oval shaped quart sized cage cup with 2 household sponges on the top water shelf. Then on really dry spells I had to add a 2nd oval cage cup with wire mesh cover to the bottom shelf. (All vents were closed with exception of a sliver opening on back and the circle plug on the side for wires.) Good LUCK!

Does anybody know a butcher in south central Minnesota (close to Mankato) that will process my chickens? I normally do it myself if I have 10 or less to do, but this year I will probably have around 30 ish. Not set up to do that very efficiently by myself.

Welcome Jermoatc! I am sorry I have no leads for you. But you are welcome to join in our chatter.

I should have said that I don’t have a GQF Hatcher yet... i’m just using a foam that came with My GQF... but this fall I’m getting on... If I can find one

There is a place in Brainerd but that’s all I know of... do you have a local Amish Community?

Just some pictures from today.... All the cows are in the corral (except for the bull and steers). All went well and nobody got hurt so that’s a good thing lol...

I decided to take on the biggest box jump at school today. First jump I made it using my hands, second jump I made it, third jump how we put it is "I ate it", so I had to redeem myself so I took a fourth jump and made it.
I have one "egg" in my right leg, and a bruised and severly sore left knee.
