Some people say that a black bird will help keep the blue nice and rich. I'm not sure about that but personally I'd go for a black drake anyway.

Fantastic! Don't be afraid to go for one that's a year or two old either - that way you can choose one that has not developed any brown feathers (look at the breast and under the wings) and hasn't got too much white (over time the blacks and blues will start to go white on the body but the later in life this happens the better). I'd start looking round for breeders of quality birds. How exciting!!!!

Shame about these ones!

I'd be seeking a bird from a specialist breeder of Swedish. Since black and bibs are dominant it's easy to end up with a bird that looks Swedish but is actually a cross bred. You want to be sure that the breeder has pure bred birds. Your ducks are really nice and you want to do them justice with an equally nice male.

awww thank you!! that was nice.. so i dont want some plain ordanary bird looking like a sweed i want a nice quality to go with my beautiful girls.. makes sence to me

what do you think about this...
if i order sexed drakes the same place as i got my girls
and as they get older pick out the keepers??
i was thinking 4 to start with and try to cut down to two
since i have 4 girls i want to get more from the same place anyways..
