Hi. I have a rir hen that has swollen feet. Poor girl..shes about 7 yrs old and still lays about 4 times a week. Could it be because she is getting old, or something else? I dont think its bumble foot, since i already tried soaking. Does anyone know what she might have? Heres a pic of her feet:

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear you have a poorly footed girl :hugs I would continue with the bumble foot process just incase. Often it starts with the smallest of marks but as the infection progresses it becomes more apparent. Here is an article if you have not already checked it out ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/bumblefoot-in-your-flock

If it turns out not to be bumble foot it could be that it is an age thing and possibly arthritis causing the swelling. Good luck with her I hope she is well again soon.
You could also drop by here for more thought in your girl ~

Wishing you the very best of luck with her and enjoy BYC :frow

in the first picture I can see a small dark spot on the left side foot. That may be the start of bumble foot- I can't see it very well.

Thanks. Its nice being here! And yes she kinda does have a small round bump. We have soaked her feet before and wrapped them. We even cut into them a little bit. A little bit of puss came out. We continued to wrap them. And now...it looks like she has it again

Hey! I have a light brahma cockerel about 5 months old. He was fine yesterday, but this morning, it seems like he cant move his legs at all. He just lays there, unable to walk. He still eats, as usual. Havent seen him drinking yet. Anyone know whats wrong with him?
