Telling the difference between my chick breeds?

Can't wait for the new peeps in two weeks! 5 Ameraucanas, 5 Welsummers, 2 white Leghorns and 2 Anconas.

Will I be able to tell the difference between the Ameraucanas and the Welsummers? I'm think I'm OK with the other two breeds (2 yellow peeps and 2 speckled yellow and black I hope!). Should I see if Meyer can mark them? Only two of the Welsummers are mine, the other three are for my neighbor...and the Ameraucanas are hers as well.

You are right about the leghorns for sure. However, easter Eggers (what they sold you as an 'Ameracauna'), come in many patterns. I ordered 4 and thought they shorted me, until I noticed 2 white chicks had beards, LOL.

i think half of the fun of baby chicks is watching them everyday and seeing what the feathers come in like, etc. Your EEs will probablly have extra-fluffy cheeks.

We supposedly had our marked last year. They goofed. The dark cornish turned out to be one of my EE's!
