Ive been having heat problems too. I had to stick my 5 week old silkie outside last night because of polyurethane use in the house and this afternoon the smell is pretty clear but it was so hot outside she was laying on her side and panting. Had plenty of water and in a air-flow-through coop that was in the shade and she still looked sick. I think shed gotten used to the air conditioning inside the house LOL. Brought her back in and shes sitting upright and cooing at me. Speaking of I dont think Ive ever had a chicken that cooed... Its cute though
