Texas

Very much Austin county ;) I thought you were referring to the German Shepard before that last bit! She’s the crazy one. All mouth, all teeth. Not aggressive but so strong and big when she jumps she terrifies people. Even ‘dog people’. Got about another year before she grows out of this hyper mouthy puppy phase too. I’ve heard various horror stories about vicious dachshunds but I really can’t say I’ve ever had any experiences like that with miniature smooth solid colored dachshunds in particular. I get specific not to be a snob but actually for this very reason. It’s known amongst dachshund lovers that different variations within the breed have behavioral variances too, call em quirks. Differences between mini and standard, wire, smooth & long haired, dilute, dapple, piebald...even more interesting is what in the world was the army doing with a dachshund? Scent hound?
No it was a personal pet from a single individual(dachshund). Not an Army trained animal. I can just tell you it was horrid meeting a bird or rabbit freakishly so. That pup could kill stuff in under 1 second.

Our Mallinios is a freaky scary thing as well. Destroys about 1 Frisbee per week and can for sure fit my appendages into its mouth. I upset him last week by winning the tug toy and got remeasured for bite size. Luckily we will never be on the wrong side of that bite, but for sure I do recommend a German Shepherd over them for ease of training. They are lighter(70-75#) than my last 90 pound GSD, but explosive accelerational power makes for a slight difference. That is why frisbee is the only game worth playing to the dog. Ours can't be bothered with any Kong products like balls and whatnot it has to be frisbee. We never throw frisbees to him he runs them down. The mental calculations that go on in that dogs head are pretty impressive chasing a frisbee if it is going to hit a tree branch he is doing the mental math on it. DW just bought a new frisbee today at Wallyworld. Certainly I see why the Mallinois are favored by the military as they can pretty much hit any moving target, but they take so much work to train and run. Currently we run him 8 or so times daily in 10 to 15 minute sessions. He for sure is not an easy dog to keep.

Not denigrating GSD I would much rather have one, but I am stuck with this guy for the next 10 years.

To finish this out we just wanted him off the neighbors chain out setups. That is why he is ours now. That and barking 24x7. We never wanted a Mallinois but our neighbors were not capable of keeping one. Also down here $100 buys you a lot it got me a dog and a happy wife:celebrateSure it was an additional 300 in vet fees but that is any dog.

So my tire shop does more than tires. They had an incredible number of Mercedes under repair that I would love to own and drive. Sure they are 25 years old but thinking that will be my next car. They have a 450 SEL convertable it is a dream car for me since my youth. Yep, I am going there and DW will not care about this she will it need it fixed and driveable too.Just call it investor interest.

We have a load of silkies I want to be rid of. Wife has a different opinion about that in SPI, TX. Got the new Jeep spare today. I will deal with a new jack in the next couple of days. Regardless I have plenty of low quality silkies to offer for your breeding program @mshuey1 . I can certainly spare and get rid of the silkie surprise chicklets.
Hi do u have pics.of the silkies.

I have a few leghorn and leghorn x Golden sex link chicks that are just under 2 weeks old but that’s quite a drive East for a few chicks. Will have more in early feb from our other birds. Not sure what type of hybrid they are. Some sort of silver bantam with copper and iridescent green black with copper. Going to post pictures and figure out what they are later this week.
Do u ship

No rain here! :( I need to burn some brush piles but afraid my neighbor would report it!

@AllenK RGV , that old saying; "Your about as much fun as changing a flat tire in a hail storm", came to mind!
I hate changing flats anytime, day or night. The OEM jacks and tire irons just don't cut it...that's why I have an after market 12 ton hydraulic floor jack and a 4-way tire iron. :D
sometimes I even carry a tractor jack,....ya never know when it might come in handy.
Guys... the ONLY vehicle(s) that I ever felt relaxed about changing a tire were any of my Subaru's. The OEM jack and wrench were "just the right size" and while in college I had a few blow-outs. None were from lack of care or running on bald tires because I couldn't save enough for tires. Nope. Just your usual road hazard surprises. I got so good at wrenching on them subkes that one of the blow-outs was actually funny. You see the few in the wagon with me didn't know the spare was sitting on top of the engine. (begins to giggle recalling their reactions thru this)
I had an almost giddy grin slide into my face as I pulled over and looked at one of them and said, "time me."
They replied, "time what?" One of them in the backseat said, "Changing the tire dummy, Duh!" Then she looked at me and asked if I needed help right after saying that to them.... I laughed and said thanks but, not this time.
From setting the parking break, before exiting the car to sitting back down "finished", they clocked it at around 20 minutes. I know it was way less the a half hour for fact but, that was one of those memories of "Hah! I got this cold!" Yeah it was at night. Yeah on the highway. No, super cold or rain. the funniest part was their dropped jaw when I saw their faces as I pulled the full sized spare out of the engine bay once I had the car jacked and tire already off.... Gawd that was funny.
Tires swapped. Tools returned to their cubby hole, dead tire placed correctly, and closed the lid and the quizzical looks still onn2 of their faces... That was a fun teachable moment as we pulled back out onto the highway.

That being said, I'm always "on top of" all our vehicle tire wear and pressures. With all the cross country and across the state of TX trips we have taken over the years... Balance, treadwear, road noise, ride & peace of mind.... Make for a much improved family disposition on any outing.

And our current blustery weather report.....

They are saying it's supposed to calm down after midnight....... IMG_20201223_205114053~2.jpg

Several times today we've had 40+ gusts

Ok I do find it hard to believe my CPL brother in law does not believe I can fly a plane. I spent my teen years flying with my dad going from north Texas to Oshkosh each and every year. For my 16 year birthday my gift was a pilots log book as both my father and his brother were CFI's Certified Flight Instructors. Just something keeping me up tonight. I still find it kind of hard to believe he does not believe I never met Chuck Yeager, I met the guy every year at Oshkosh.

Try The PepperGal.com , you can get any kind of pepper seed you want from her. I have ordered from her many times, she also carries salt peter....vital for the hottest peppers to soak in before planting...better and faster germination.
Ummmm, heads up folks!!!! I just went to her website! @Kiki @muddy75 y'all need to make up your minds FAST! Looky here....

Yes I too can hear the blustery winds luckily for us it is only 57.7 atm with 10-14mph wind speeds. On the plus side I could go outside and drink a coke without can sweat if I wanted to get dressed for it.

Oh the tire on the vehicle was road hazard for sure. 2nd time around for me with that and believe the odometer is getting close to 14500 miles now. There was no saving it as the inside sidewalls were a complete loss. I'll have to ask my wife to shoot me the image she took it was a complete blowout and didn't take a tire tech to tell me there was no repairing the thing. @electrycmonk Just reordered a 12V air compressor it seems like my 3 year old one just died. I discovered this fact from the tpms on the spare and found out there was only 25psi in it. Jeeps run around 40 psi. I hope
griotsgarage.com
didn't sell me junk it is my first time ordering from them.

Ok I cheated and logged into her whatsapp. Got the photo, no saving this tire also the damage was outer sidewall not inner as I had said previously. No clue what I hit but suspect it was scrap metal as we live in desperate times:
