I just took my daughter out to look at it. She said it wasn't that big, I agree. It IS bright though.

That explains why the hubby was snarling and twitching in his sleep last night. Since he didn't sprout claws or fangs I continued to snore obnoxiously into the bright night.

It's also called the "worm moon" because it usually happens this time of year when the ground is warm and the worms start to come to the surface of the earth.

Can't wait to get a good look at it tonight.

I moved a large flower pot the other day and a chicken shot out of nowhere and gobbled up 4 earthworms, I kinda felt bad for the worms.
