I have 5 mallards that like to visit my property. I heard that feeding them bread is bad for their legs. Why is that?

That would be nice. I love his back. Really need to pick a name for him. He really did get out so I could clean pen lol. I worked all day/night yesterday and only had time for fresh straw on top. I normally change it every day. As soon as I had it set back up he went back in lol.

Thanks guys!! He can almost walk normally! Going to keep him locked up for a couple days so he doesn't agitate it but he can use the stump to move pretty well!!!

Impressive! It took a long time before my duck would bear weight on it.

So Boes didnt eat or drink much last night or today. Hoping he perks up. Still alert and moving around a little in pen.

Are you giving him any vitamins? If not might want to consider getting some to put in his water it can give him a boost.
I hope he perks up too.

LOL how do the dogs feel about it?
Did you wrap his stump at all?

You may have to keep it wrapped forever just because it may stay opened with him walking on it. I really don't know but Just thinking out loud.

That is great your dogs are tolerant. Mine are too as long as we don't have babies.
