Sad to report the Muscovy egg incubating didn't go so well. It was the first batch with my new Hovabator and I just couldn't get the humidity up and stable for lock down. Of 10 eggs only 4 internally pipped. I had to assist 2 hatches. All others DIS
Looks like we have two brown barred.
Oh I'm so sorry! A muscovy breeder once told me to keep muscovy eggs under a chicken or a duck for the first 2 weeks before putting them in the incubator
Can't mallards also fly?Yep, that's one of the reasons I chose ducks. The only 2 breeds that I know of that can fly are Muscovy and Calls. I believe most people just clip the flight feathers once they grow in so they don't have to worry about them flying.
Actually most ducks can fly...or sort of fly...if they really make an effort. Not too high or too far but it is flight in that it is off the ground movement while flapping their wings. Can't mallards also fly?
