I saw my first 2 hummingbirds tonight, one that I saw clearly looked black with red on the top of his wings any ideas as to what kind it was? And it was tiny tiny

Hope everyone has seen some little visitors. We thought they were completely gone until about a day or two ago when suddenly they started appearing in the handfuls. They're moving through more now it seems.

Actually I don’t think I’ve seen any rubies where I live, we usually get Anna’s, black-chins, Allens, rufous’s, and Costa’s

I live up in Northern New England. The only hummingbirds that I've seen around here are Ruby-throats. I see a bunch of females, but very few males... both are beautiful, but the males are the most gorgeous little jewels.
I still need to put the feeder out. I've see a couple of females in the honeysuckle vine that's taking over the deck railing, though, so that's good.
I need to turn those vines back through the railing... that honeysuckle is starting to block the steps! It's practically a bush by this point, not a vine!
