Hello all!
I live on a lakE where Muscovy flocks live. A few weeks ago one, young and new to the area appeared. He’s harassed by male and females. He flew over the fence and came to me for affection one afternoon and went into my dog cage during a storm. I gave him water and soon as the storm was over he flew off.
He’s started coming each day now and follows me everywhere, sleeps by my feet, stays by my back door and even tries to come in.
I’m not sure if it’s male of female it’s caruncles are only starting to come in.
I’m concerned he’s alone. I’ve now got him a small coop he’s sleeping in at night however he is free and goes to the lake. Today he was nearly drowned by a female duck in the lake.
I’m also the owner of two “duck hunting dogs” only one is obsessed with ducks, he was recently injured and therefore not roaming the yard as usual.
So… I’m here for any help, advice, suggestions and guidance on what to do with this lone duck I now call Faith.
Thanks in advance.
