Atm they're on purina flockraiser for the winter while they aren't laying but i don't particularly like it and most of them are laying now so i need to go back to my other feed which is Poulin Grain Egg Production Plus. It is 18% protein and soy free. I used to feed Nutrena NatureWise Hearty Hen which is also 18% protein and soy free but Morrison's stopped carrying it. But I really like the Poulin.

Speaking of which, apparently she came over this morning. Gator was asleep in the basement so my brother went to get him and of course he came running up when he saw my brother. Didn't even notice the dog LOL but then he noticed and was kind of like OH GEEZ! And went charging over but realized it was her and just sniffed her butt. He got a little huffy when she got near his food and ran over (well fast for him lol) and she ran away and he sniffed his bowl. But that's not really unusual because he does that when the cat goes near it too. Obviously it's not totally normal and is probably a form of resource guarding cause sometimes when the cat's near it he eats it fast but he wasn't vicious or mean or anything. And she was just sniffing it. She was sniffing all over. Lots of interesting stuff here i guess.

Also he went to chase her and she ran around the corner (we have an island in the kitchen) and wiped out i guess :lau

But anyway, he went out to pee and stuff so she went out too.

Had no idea what to make of the chickens and was sniffing them I guess but they stayed away from her.

And she also had no idea what to make of the cat. And the cat didn't like her either and was swatting at her from the chair lol although she likes to play like that.

And I guess when she got scared she went and hid behind my dad lol

Andmy brother also brought her to work and there were like 5 other dogs there. He has brought her before too I think. They have like a tennis court thing they all play in. Lots of people bring their dogs to work.

I guess she was a little scared and hid behind my brother (scaredy cat seems to be a theme lol) but then she was fine and very good.

Also, Gator used to do the same thing where he would get scared and run and hide behind us. Wonder if it's a breed thing lol

Anyway, Gator was apparently surprisingly NOT defensive.

And she apparently found the chickens interesting

Well, we're looking at 73 today and sunshiny but winds gusting up to 20-25. Always worried about someone throwing a cigarette out of a car window somewhere.

DIARY OF A POMMIE IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

August 31 - Just got transferred with work from Leeds UK
to our new home in Karratha, Western Australia .
Now this is a town that knows how to live!
Beautiful, sunny days and warm, balmy evenings.
I watched the sunset from a deckchair by our pool yesterday.
It was beautiful. I've finally found my new home. I love it here.

September 13 - Really heating up now. It got to 31 today. No problem
though. Living in air-conditioned home, driving air-conditioned car.
What a pleasure to see the sun every day like this. I'm turning into a
sun-worshipper – no blasted rain like back in Leeds!!

September 30 - Had the back yard landscaped with tropical plants
today. Lots of palms and rocks. No more mowing lawns for me! Another
scorcher today, but I love it here. It’s Paradise!

October 10 - The temperature hasn't been below 35 all week. How do
people get used to this kind of heat? At least today it's windy though.
Keeps the flies off a bit. Acclimatizing is taking longer than we expected.

October 15 - Fell asleep by the pool yesterday. Got third degree burns
over 60% of my body. Missed three days off work. What a dumb thing
to do. Got to respect the old sun in a climate like this!

October 20 - Didn't notice Kitty (our cat) sneaking into the car before I
left for work this morning. By the time I got back to the car after work,
Kitty had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stuck
to the upholstery. The car now smells like Whiskettes and cat shit. I've
learned my lesson though: no more pets in this heat.

October 25 - This wind is a [censored]. It feels like a giant [censored] blow
dryer. And it's hot as [censored]! The home air conditioner is on the blink
and the repair man charged $200 just to drive over and tell me he needs
to order parts from [censored] Perth ....The wife & the kids are complaining.

October 30 - The temperature's up around 40 and the parts still haven't
arrived for the [censored] air conditioner. House is an oven so we’ve all been
sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now. [censored] $600,000 house
and we can't even go inside. Why the [censored] did I ever come here?

November 4 - Finally got the [censored] air-conditioner fixed. It cost $1,500 and
gets the temperature down to around 25 degrees, but the humidity makes it
feel about 35. Stupid repairman. [censored] thief.

November 8 - If one more smart [censored] says 'Hot enough for you today?' I'm
going to [censored] throttle him. [censored] heat! By the time I get to work, the car
radiator is boiling over, my [censored] clothes are soaking [censored] wet and I
smell like baked cat. [censored] place is the end of the Earth.

November 9 - Tried to run some errands after work, wore shorts, and sat on the
black leather upholstery in my car. I thought my [censored] butt was on fire. I lost 2
layers of flesh, all the hair on the backs of my legs and off my [censored] butt. Now
the car smells like burnt hair, fried butt and baked cat. [censored] [censored] [censored]

November 10 -– The Weather report might as well be a [censored] recording.
Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny, Hot and [censored] sunny. It never [censored] changes!
It's been too hot to do anything for 2 [censored] months and the weatherman says it
might really warm up next week. [censored]!

November 15 - Doesn't it ever rain in this damn [censored] place? Water restrictions
will be next, so my $5,000 worth of palms might just dry up and blow into the [censored] pool. The only things that thrive in this [censored] [censored]-hole are the [censored] flies. You don't dare open your mouth for fear of swallowing half a dozen of the little [censored]!

November 20 - Welcome to [censored]! It got to 45 [censored] degrees today. Now the air conditioner's gone in my car. The repair man came to fix it and said, 'Hot enough for you today?' I wanted to shove the [censored] car up his [censored]. Anyway, had to spend the $2,500 mortgage payment to bail me out of jail for assaulting the stupid idiot. [censored] Karratha! What kind of sick, demented [censored] idiot would want to live here!

December 1 - WHAT!!!! The FIRST day of Summer!!!! You are [censored] kidding me!

That's true! I do know some people like that where they are just annoying or childish or do the slightest things to annoy you purposely. Like grow up lol

However, this is about something else.

It also begs the second question:

Why does nobody train their dogs?

I was pulling into my driveway and there was this guy there right in the middle of the entrance to the driveway. He was letting his dog sniff which is slightly annoying since people do come down our driveway a lot but it was at the very beginning, kind of a corner, and not technically our driveay yet so whatever. But I stop, waiting for him to move. He doesn't move. Granted, I didn't have my signal on (are those audible from outside?) And I didn't open my window and say please move but still. My car is a Subaru, not loud but not exactly silent. Usually you hear cars. But okay, he was middle aged so maybe hard of hearing, whatever. But long story short, his dog, a little medium sized orange doodle mix of some kind, sees me and freaks out! Comes charging at my car! Then the guy finally is like oh there's a car there/notices his damn dog and moves out of my way and wraps the leash shorter and stuff. Meanwhile, his dog is barking and trying to get away to come after the car and he's trying to get him to stop and probably slightly embarrassed.

But like.... you should probably teach your dog not to lunge at and come after cars, dude!

I mean, I'm not even some stuck up jerk or something that thinks he's a bad owner, my own dog has been known to react to some dogs (working on that), but lunging at cars is just a safety hazard! He's lucky I was stopped cause that dog was at the end of his leash and almost in the road or maybe even was slightly in the road. If I hadn't been paying attention he could have been injured or killed.

Why does no one train their dogs? And why does no one pay attention to their dogs when walking them? Theoretically it could have been noticed BEFORE the dog got to me.

Oi vey.

Just a little frustration. Haha

Similar stuff happens here too. One thing is people stopping at the busy middle of a sidewalk to use their phones!

This campus has 15 to 20 thousand people on it on most days...Lots of crowded sidewalks...Move out of the way!
