If it's young you could try vitamins in the water (like the liquid kind used for infants w/o iron). The toe could be a result of vit deficiency, injury, or poor genetics.Im not sure if this is a problem but just today my friend noticed that my little runt of the flock who is a speckled susexx has a crooked toe. I am not sure if this is a big problem. Can someone help me?
I had a mix hen with a crooked toe. She lived a good life & did all the normal chicken things. She was even the top hen in the flock, so the mild deformity never slowed her down. However, I hatched 2 of her eggs & one offspring had the crooked toe, so I never hatch any more of her eggs. She was the best layer I ever had, but I didn't want to pass that toe to more chicks, so the egg legacy ended with her.
